Abstract
The purpose of this research were to (1) Describe marketing channel in Muara Padang Sub-district of Banyuasin Regency (2) Calculate the margin, cost and profit of rice marketing in Muara Padang Sub-district of Banyuasin Regency (3) Analyze the efficiency of rice marketing channel in Muara Padang Subdistrict, Banyuasin Regency. The results of this study show that there are two marketing channels in Muara Padang sub-district, marketing channel I from farmers - collector traders - retailers - consumer and marketing channel II farmers - wholesalers - retailers - consumers. The marketing channel II exists only in Margo Mulyo village because it is strategic and more accessible to large traders. While marketing value, marketing channel margin I worth Rp 4,200/ kg, marketing cost Rp 1,741.40/ kg, marketing profit Rp 2,458.6 /kg. While in marketing channel II, marketing margin is Rp 8,800 /kg, marketing cost is Rp 3,576,30 /kg, and marketing profit is Rp 5,223,70 /kg. And marketing channel efficiency I 14,76% and marketing channel efficiency II is 30,34%.
