Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan di daerah Koto Tanjung dan sekitarnya. Kecamatan Ulu Rawas, Kabupaten Musi Rawas, Sumatera Selatan dengan tujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keadaan geologi yang meliputi Geomorfologi, Stratigrafi, Struktur Geologi dan Diagenesis Batupasir pada Formasi Papan Betupang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode observatif, yaitu metode dengan menganalisa dan mengidentifikasi singkapan, pengambilan sampel, dan analisis laboratorium. Daerah penelitian dibagi menjadi 7 satuan bentuk lahan, yaitu: Dataran Aluvial (DA), Kerucut Karst (KK), Channel Irengular Meander (CIM), Perbukitan Menara Karst (PBK), Perbukitan Rendah Denudasional (PRD), Perbukitan Rendah (P), dan Perbukitan (P). Stratigrafi daerah penelitian tersusun atas batuan Pra-Tersier, yaitu Formasi Peneta (KJp) dan Anggota Mersip Formasi Peneta (KJpm), kemudian, Formasi Papan Betupang (Tomp) yang selaras di atas basement. Setelah itu, dilanjutkan dengan pengendapan Formasi Kasiro. Dilakukan analisis laboratorium terhadap 5 jenis sampel batupasir Formasi Papan Betupang yaitu: Batupasir Lithic Wacke, Lithic Arenite, Feldspathic Wacke, dan Mudstone, dimana dari hasil analisis terhadap 5 sampel tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Batupasir Papan Betupang mengalami 4 proses diagenesis yang berupa Fase Kompaksi, Fase Pelarutan, Fase Sementasi, dan Pembentukan Mineral Autigenik, dan juga batupasir Formasi Papan Betupang telah melalui tahap Eogenesis (Diagenesis Awal), Mesogenesis (Burial Diagenesis) dan Telogenesis (Uplift Diagenesis) yang disebabkan oleh ditemukannya oksida besi yang merupakan ciri pelapukan.
