Abstract

The objective of this research was to identify and test the technical aspects of belt conveyor made of rubber and canvas in transporting grain material. This research used splits plot design with three treatments and three replications. The first treatment was belt type with two levels of treatment (rubber and canvas belt), the second treatment was the inclination angle with four levels of treatments (0°, 6°, 12°, and 18°) and the third treatment was the type of grain with three levels of treatment (com, peanut, and soybean). The result showed that the treatment of belt type, slope angle, type of grain, as well as interactions among the treatments caused significant against the amount of material lost when moved. The transporting efficiency of canvas belt was higher than rubber belt to transporting the grains where the optimum angle of transporting com and peanut was 12° canvas belt and for soybean was 6°.
