Abstract

The conflict in Syria has been going on since 2011, protests against the overthrow of President Bashar al-Assad have led to conflict between the government of Bashar al-Assad and Syrian opposition groups.This research aims to answer and provide explanation the efforts of President Bashar al-Assad in Maintaining his power in the midst of the syrian conflict.The research method used is qualitative-descriptive with secondary data as a source of data. The data collection technique used is through the study of relevant literature such as scientific journals, books, news and website. This research is examined using the concept of power. The results showed that the efforts made by President Bashar al-Assad in maintaining his power in the midst of the Syrian conflict are using 3 power indicators, namely Authority, Force, and Influence.
