Abstract

The objectives of this study are (1) to describe the implementation of IP 200 farming by farmers in the Lebak swamp land in Tanjung Bulan Village, Rambang Kuang District, Ogan Ilir Regency, (2) Analyzed the factors that influence farmer’s decisions in apply IP 200 to the lebak swamp land in Tanjung Bulan Village, Rambang Kuang Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency, and (3) Analyzing farmers' adaptation strategies in applying IP 200 on lebak swamp land in Tanjung Bulan Village, Rambang Kuang District, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research was conducted in Tanjung Bulan Village, Rambang Kuang District, Ogan Ilir Regency in January 2022. The research location was chosen purposively with the consideration that Tanjung Bulan Village is one of the villages that applies a planting index of 200 on lebak swamp land. The research method used in this study is a mixed method of qualitative and quantitative. The sampling method used is simple random sampling. Based on the results of the study, the factors that influence farmer’s decisions in apply IP 200 to the lebak swamp land significantly are education and experience. While age and land area do not have a significant effect. The results of data processing using SWOT analysis for farmers' adaptation strategies in applying the 200 planting index on lebak swamp land in Tanjung Bulan Village, Rambang Kuang District, Ogan Ilir Regency are in the second quadrant position, namely the ST strategy, which uses their strengths to overcome threats.
