Abstract

Effect of Flaxseed Oil (Linum Usitatissimum) On The Growth Of Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Inhibitory Power Test Against Eschericiha coli SELA ANGRENI 08061381823083 ABSTRACT This study was conducted to determine the effect of flaxseed oil administration on the growth of probiotic L. bulgaricus. The bacterial growth test of L. bulgaricus was carried out by calculating colonies using a total plate count and calculating the number of bacterial colonies using the standard formula SNI 2332.3: 2015. Determination of antibacterial activity of metabolites of L. bulgaricus using the method of diffusion of disc paper. Flaxseed Oil is made using the cold pressed method and has met the standards in the form of free fatty acids (67.68%), peroxide numbers (41.92 meq / g), refractive index (1.4787) and lathering figures (188.39 mg KOH / g). The fatty acid component was tested using GCMS with the highest concentration of linolenic acid (74.95%). The concentration of Flaxseed Oil used in the bacterial growth test is 1%, 5%, 10%, 15%. The most excellent concentration of the number of bacteria is at a concentration of 1%. There was a significant difference in the number of probiotic bacteria with a concentration of 15% with both negative and positive controls marked by a p<0.05 value. The number of bacteria in the four concentrations in a row was 4.01 x 1012, 2.93 x 1012, 2.72 x 1012, 2.70 x 1012. Testing of the antibacterial activity of L. bulgaricus metabolites against E. coli with three concentrations (100%, 50%, 10%) resulted in an acquired inhibition response of weak-moderate. In the test of antibacterial activity on metabolites of L. bulgaricus that were not treated with Flaxseed Oil, it produced a significant difference where the p value <0.05. Keywords : Antibacterial, E. Coli, Flaxseed Oil, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Probiotics.
