Abstract

Risperidone merupakan antipsikotik yang menyebabkan vasokonstriksi pembuluh darah kelenjar saliva. Hal ini dapat mengakibatkan fungsi darah dan pertahanan tubuh menurun. Hampir semua anak menggunakan obat ini dan penggunaannya menyebabkan gingivitis. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan penggunaan risperidone pada anak autis dengan gingivitis. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 90 orang, dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok. Kelompok kontrol, tanpa risperidone; kelompok perlakuan I, dengan risperidone 2,5 mg/hr; dan kelompok perlakuan II, dengan risperidone 3,5 mg/hr. Data diambil menggunakan skor Papilla Bleeding Indeks (PBI) dan dianalisis dengan uji Chi-Square. Rata-rata skor PBI yang didapat kelompok kontrol adalah 0,01; kelompok perlakuan I adalah 0,72; dan kelompok perlakuan II adalah 2,27. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang bermakna antara penggunaan risperidone pada anak autis dengan gingivitis (p-value=0.000). Disarankan perlu dilakukan pemeriksaan rongga mulut ke dokter gigi secara rutin untuk menurunkan tingkat keparahan gingivitis yang ditimbulkan. Kata kunci: anak autis, risperidone, gingivitis.
