Abstract
Swamp water generally have a low pH ranging from 3-4. Liming is needed to increase pH both water and soils. This study aims to determine the best combination dose between golden apple snails and calcite lime to increase the pH of water, survival rate and growth of catfish (Pangasius sp). The study used completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment were 100% calcite (P1), 100% golden apple snails limes (P2), 75% calcite and 25% golden apple snails limes (P3), 50% calcite and 50% golden apple snails limes (P4), 25% calcite and 75% golden apple snails limes (P5).All treatments used 7000kg/ha CaO equivalent for aplication. The result showed that P4 was the best treatment according to data of swamp water pH increase from 3.6 to 7.95 and soil pH increased from 3.6 to 8.03, survival rate100%, absolute growthweight14.12 g, absolute growthlength 6.99 cm and feed effeciency 101.91%.
