Abstract
Culture is one of the things closest to the community itself because, of course, the existence of culture cannot be separated from the object, namely humans or society. One of the cultures that researchers will discuss is the culture of South Sumatra, namely the Muba culture. Muba is one of the districts in South Sumatra, which of course, has many cultures ranging from dance, language, regional clothes and many others. One of the sekayu cultures currently on the rise is Batik Gambo. Iriana Joko widodo and Megawati once used the Gambo batik itself during the Proclamation Commemoration event. The researchers' aim here is to introduce better the history of Gambo batik with the uniqueness and problems that the researchers also found. Researchers here use the historical method to see and analyze again with existing sources and references according to the theme that the researcher wrote so that the articles written can be sustainable. So batik Gambo consists of a rare gambier tree as a dye from a fabric that is already rare, so you can buy it from another city or produce it with your land while still following the regulations
