Abstract

Oil palm trees are important economic crops in tropical areas. The large cultivation areas of palm trees have motivated the use of remote sensing to produce such data automatically. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) can be used as remote sensing or capture aerial image of target area. RGB aerial image are applied to media filter so the edge of leaves on tree top become smoother. K-means color segmentation used for separating tree colors as a foreground. Then, the image converted to binary image so that the object or tree becomes blobs. By applying blob counting algorithm, the number of trees can be known. The results of this study are binary blobs of tree image and number of trees counting by system with average accuracy was 90,63%.
