Abstract
The extensive Manggala Agni Daops Sumatra XVII OIC working area following with a history of land and peat fires that are quite severe in previous years make the extinguishing work carried out by the fire brigade vulnerable to the risk of Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI), be it from exposure through environmental aspects due to the content of burning plant residue gases or through the individual aspects of the extinguisher itself, Therefore this study aims to analyze the relationship between individual factors and environmental factors with ISPA complaints on the Manggala Agni Daops Sumatra XVII OIC fire squad. This research is quantitative research using a descriptive research design approach to latitude cutting analysis or Cross Sectional Study, with a method of sampling through total sampling of the entire population of fire squads as many as 55 respondents and data retrieval through questionnaires with open and closed questions. The results of the analysis using the Chi-Square approach found that on individual factors variables that have a meaningful relationship with ARI complaints are age variables (p-value = 0.003), working period (p-Value = 0.000), and smoking status (p-Value = 0.000). In variable nutritional status (p-Value = 0.068) and mask-wearing behavior (p-Value = 0.370) there was no significant association or difference with the incidence of ARI. T-test analysis of environmental factors, namely the concentration of CO (p value = 0.506), NO2 (p value = 0.823), and PM10¬ (p value = 0.959) did not have a significant difference in concentration (> 0.05) with ARI complaints. Meanwhile SO2 (p value= 0.040) (< 0.05) had a significant difference in concentration with ARI complaints. All air pollutant levels recorded by AQMS are in the good to moderate category, which means that the air in Kayuagung City still does not have a public health impact, however, there are still risks due to cumulative exposure over a certain period of time that need attention.
