Abstract
Swamp waters were suboptimal land which can be used for vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) cultivation. The aim of the study was to obtain the best stocking density for the growth and survival of vannamei shrimp. The research was conducted on the Aquaculture Experimental Pond Laboratory, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University on October– November 2021. The method used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisted of 3 treatments (P) with 3 replications, i.e. P1 (stocking density of 80 shrimp.m-2), P2 ( 90 shrimps.m-2), P3 (100 shrimp.m-2). The results showed that the stocked density of vannamei shrimp at P3 (100 shrimph.m-2 ) gave the highest result of survival rate (54.75%), absolute weight growth (4,86 g), specific weight growth (0.16%.day-1 , and Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR) 1,21. Waters quality measurement pH in the range of 7, temperature 28-31oC, DO 4,02 ppm, ammonia 0,5 mg.L-1 , alkalinity 150 mg.L-1 , and salinity of 0 ppt.
