Abstract

This research of development aims to produce interactive multimedia learning products theme-based material for children aged 5-6 years a valid and practical that serves to introduce numbers and symbols of numbers, sorting in sequence, and count interesting sums. This research has been conducted at TK YWKA Palembang. This research uses research development method (research development) and Alessi & Trollip research model that is modified by Tessmer formative evaluation. Stages in this research consist of: (1) planning stage, (2) design stage, (3) development stage. There are 5 (five) stages of Tessmer's formative evaluation procedure: self evaluation, expert review, one to one evaluation, small group evaluation, and field test. Data were collected through expert review, interview, observation, and documentation. Multimedia interactive learning theme-based theme material is valid based on the expert review of 3.89 with the category is very valid, which means that the multimedia display is good, work productivity is able to grow learning comfort and speed of work can improve the learning motivation of children. Multimedia is practically seen from one to one evaluation and small group evaluation with an average overall score of 91.13% with very practical category, meaning that children can be aroused by cognition because they have reasoning, audio, video, visual, and multimedia is easy to get because the form of an interactive CD. It is recommended for further research that is researching about the potential impact of interactive learning multimedia theme based mater for children aged 5-6 years.
