Abstract
Tanjung Atap Village is a central area for the craftsman industry in Ogan Ilir Regency, because the main reason is craftsmen by profession. This skill has been passed down from generation to generation. So that it affects social and economic life which can be seen in the dynamics of its development in the last eleven years (2007-2018). The purpose of the study was to describe the social and economic conditions of the craftsmen of Tanjung Atap Village, Tanjung Batu District, especially aluminum crafts and pruning mats. The research method used is historical research. At the beginning, the researcher collected after the sources related to the topic under study, collected criticism of all the sources that had been obtained, such as sources, namely craftsmen in Tanjung Atap Village as a reference. Then the researchers analyzed the results obtained from interviews with resource persons. Furthermore, the results of the analysis are described in systematic writing so that the results of the research can be explained that the social life of aluminum and woven crafts has a strong relationship between craftsmen and middlemen and craftsmen with the local community. Then the aspect of economic life has historically increased, especially from 2007 to 2018 for the sale of aluminum and purun mat woven crafts.
