Abstract

Public places are required to provide environmental sanitation that facilitates disease transmission, one of which is traditional markets. Pasar Rakyat 3-4 Ulu is a market that is under the auspices of the Regional Company of Palembang Jaya based on initigal observations as for problems related to the condition of sanitation facilities that are not yet optimal. Traditional markets must pay attention to the environmental sanitation aspect, which during the COVID-19 pandemic, market conditions as public facilities were very difficult to implement social and physical distancing as well as poor higiene, sanitation and higiene standards that were not yet strict, making the market a high-risk place for the spread of COVID-19. The purpose of this study was to analyze the condition of environmental sanitation facilities at Pasar Rakyat 3-4 Ulu during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method in this study uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach.Information obtained through in-depth interviews, observation and photovoice. There were 10 informants in this study using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis is done through inductive method and the validity test were carried out through triangulation of sources and methods. The results of this study indicate that the condition of sanitation facilities in Pasar Rakyat 3-4 on the variables of clean water, toilet facilities, waste disposal facilities, hand washing facilities, waste water disposal channels, market disinfection and information media facilities are still not in accordance with the Minister of Health Regulation. RI No.17 of 2020 and Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No.382 of 2020. The conclusion of this study shows that environmental sanitation facilities and information media facilities in the 3-4 Ulu public market are not yet fully good. Suggestions in this study at the 3-4 Ulu people's market need to complete and repair inadequate facilities and always supervise the available facilities in order to be able to re-enable these facilities.
