Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of economic growth on government consumption expenditure and household consumption expenditure in ASEAN-5. The data used in this study is secondary data sourced from the world bank for the period 2010-2020. The scope of this research is Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore. The analysis technique used is panel data regression method with Random Effect Model (REM) estimation as the selected model. The results of this study indicate that: (a) economic growth has a negative and significant effect on government consumption expenditure and household consumption expenditure in ASEAN-5; (b) economic growth can explain government consumption expenditure of 30,7 percent and household consumption expenditure of 15,6 percent.
