Abstract
The complex procedures of the odontectomy can induce the higher anxiety of the patient. If the information can be accessed by patient through seeing and listening, then there will be an increase in understanding and maintaining the information, so it gives positive effect on reducing patient anxiety. This study aims to determine the comparison of animation and non-animation presurgical video education effects toward anxiety level in odontectomy patients. This research is a quasy experiment. 32 odontectomy patients were divided into group A (animation pre surgical video education) and group B (non-animation presurgical video education). The samples filled out the Modification of IDAF-4C questionnaire to find out the initial anxiety, followed by watching the video, and refilling the questionnaire to find out the difference in anxiety levels. The result using dependent t-test showed that there were no significant differences (p>0.05) of odontectomy anxiety between before and after giving the video to both groups. Based on the percentage, it is known that there was an average decreased of 2.15% in group A and 4.80% in group B. Independent t- test showed that there were no significant difference between the two groups (p>0,05). The conclusion is there were no significant difference between animation and nonanimation presurgical video education effects toward anxiety level in odontectomy patients, but based on average score it is known that non-animation video can slightly reduce anxiety level of odontectomy patients compared to animation.
