Abstract

Handwritten character recognition i one of r search field that has been tudied for a long time. The accuracy of handwriting recognition depends on the image processing proces the feature e traction meth d and the training and testing methods. Other factors u h as the charact r s patt m similarity and th handwriting variations al o affect th r cognition re ult. Preproces ing methods u ed in thi re earch are gray caling, binerization, and thinning the featur xtraction m thod used is Zone entroid Zone (ZCZ). and th algorithm used for recogbnition process is a combination of Radial Ba i Function and Backpropagation algorithms. The r sult of this research is the software i abl to recognize the handwriting of Ulu Ka anga cript with accuracy of 80 3%
