Abstract

The central bank interest rate as one of the operational objectives of monetary policy reflects the inflation targeting framework. This is due to the increasing importance of the role of PUAB in maintaining the price level to remain stable. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that affect the PUAB interest rate, namely Sibor, SBI interest rate, exchange rate, and inflation. The analysis Model used in this study is ARDL (Auto Regressive Distributed Lag), using monthly data from 2016:01 to 2021:12. The results showed that in the short term there is a negative and significant influence between SIBOR, SBI interest rates one previous period, and inflation to the central bank interest rate. Meanwhile, the SBI interest rate and inflation have a positive and significant influence on the central bank interest rate. In the long term SIBOR and SBI interest rates have a positive and significant influence, but the exchange rate has a positive and insignificant influence on the central bank interest rate. While inflation has a negative and significant influence on the central bank interest rate. Therefore, it is recommended that BI as the Monetary Authority should strive to achieve its inflation target based on interest rate management, especially the interbank interest rate.
