Abstract

In this study, an evaluation of the lightning protection system was carried out at PT. PLN (PERSERO) UP2D S2JB Palembang, namely the Base Transceiver Station (BTS) tower, Office building, Operation & Maintance Electrical Distribution System Campus building and Yantek Ampera building using electrogeometric methods. In the calculation results obtained a peak lightning current of 54.360 and a striking distance of 134.25. By using the electrogeometric method on the Base Transceiver Station (BTS) tower, it only takes 1 air termination with a height of 2.5 m along with a protection angle value of 26.42° and a radius of protection area of 120.220 meters. In an office building, it takes 2 air terminations with a height of 3.30 m and 6 meters with a protection angle of 56.11° and 57.88° and a radius of protection area of 74,846 meters and 71.302 meters.
