Abstract

Hipertensi merupakan salah satu penyakit degeneratif yang termasuk salah satu masalah kesehatan dunia karena prevalensinya masih tinggi. Hipertensi terkait dengan faktor risiko seperti umur, jenis kelamin, perilaku merokok, aktivitas fisik yang kurang, tingginya kadar kolestrol, diabetes mellitus, obesitas, sensitivitas terhadap garam dan genetik. Tujuan: Mengidentifikasi karakteristik pasien hipertensi di Poliklinik Ginjal Hipertensi Rumah Sakit Mohammad Hoesin periode 27 Oktober - 27 November 2011. Metode: Penelitian survei deskriptif dengan menggunakan data primer, yaitu mewawancara pasien dan data sekunder (rekam medik) pasien yang berobat di Poliklinik Ginjal Hipertensi RSMH yang dilakukan pada bulan OktoberNovember 2011. Hasil Penelitian: Dari 156 pasien hipertensi yang berobat di Poliklinik Ginjal Hipertensi RSMH. Secara sosiodemografi, hipertensi lebih banyak diderita oleh wanita dengan kelompok usia di atas 55 tahun. Sebagian besar pasien terdiri daripada golongan pensiunan. Sebagian pasien hipertensi mempunyai faktor genetik dan berada pada kondisi hipertensi derajat 1 (klasifikasi JNC VI1), dengan gejala yang paling sering ialah sakit kepala, pegal, dan sukar tidur. Lamanya pasien menderita hipertensi rata-rata 140/90 mmHg dan sebagian besar dari mereka mengalami komplikasi. Kata Kunci: Hipertensi, karakteristik
