Abstract

Lightning protection installation system is divided into two, namely lightning protection installation and grounding resistance. The ground is a lightning current distribution container in the protection system, where the ground has a zero potential. If there is a fault due to overcurrent, the grounding system can quickly send fault current to ground. The quality of the grounding system depends on the resistance of the grounding system. The requirement for a good grounding system according to electrical requirements (PUIL 2000) is to have a resistance value of 5Ω. The method used in this study is a three-point method by measuring soil resistance based on the influence of humidity and temperature. The results of this study indicate that the effect of moisture on soil resistance is inversely proportional, where the higher the value of moisture in the soil, the resistance value will decrease with the highest resistance value of 75Ω and the lowest resistance value of 48Ω. And the effect of temperature on soil resistance is directly proportional, where every temperature in the soil decreases, the soil resistance value will also decrease with the highest resistance value of 54Ω and the lowest resistance value of 16Ω.
