Abstract

The existence of inequality of development between Upstream Area and Downstream Area in Palembang City, Applying The Government to immediately do the development so as not worse. Differences in potential and space for other regions and regions, being the determinants of location can develop rapidly or lag. The growth center is a development solution, a region that has great potential. This concentrated development will lead to the region (hinterland). The purpose of this research is to determine the new growth center in Seberang Ulu Area Palembang City. This study uses primary data and secondary data that is population, facilities, and distance. Analysis technique in this research is scalogram analysis and analysis. The result of the analysis that the new growth center in Seberang Ulu Area is Seberang Ulu II Sub-district at the sub-district level, and at the village level is 16 Ulu.
