Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the number of agricultural equipment and machinery needed in OKU Regency and the investment costs incurred for the purchase of agricultural equipment and machinery to increase rice production in OKU Regency, South Sumatra Province. Research was held from June 2019 to July 2019 at the Food Crops and Horticulture Office of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, the BPP Office (counseling and Service Agency) Belambangan Pangandonan District, Ulu Ogan District and BPP Kedaton Office Kedaton Peninjauan Raya District, Ogan Komering Ulu District, South Sumatra Province. This research used descriptive method with presentation in the form of tabulation. The parameters used in this study were the development of the number of agricultural equipment and machinery, the level of adequacy of agricultural machinery and investment cost. The results showed that the level of adequacy of 2-wheel tractors and rice grinding machines in OKU Regency reached 118% and 231% or the number of two-wheel tractors and rice millimg machines that could be transferred to sub-districts with less categories was 172 units and 21 units. The level of adequacy of pump and grain dryer machines in OKU Regency is 31% and 29% or the amount needed to meet the ideal needs is 204 units and 12 units. Procurement of machineries that must be provided based on requirement and appropriate in OKU Regency were pump and flat bed dryer.
