Abstract

This study aims to analyze the cost structure and level of technical efficiency and determine the relationship between the cost structure and the level of technical efficiency in the iron and steel industry in Indonesia from 2001 to 2018. The data used is secondary data. The data analysis technique uses the Stochastic Frontier Analysis and Pearson Correlation approaches. The results showed that intermediate input costs were the largest contributor to the cost structure of the iron and steel industry in Indonesia with a percentage of 92.52 percent. The efficiency level of the iron and steel industry has not been technically efficient. Cost structure and efficiency have a positive but insignificant relationship.
