Abstract

This study discusses the formation of ozone using dielectric barrier discharge method which is simulated through COMSOL Multiphysics software. Dielectric barrier discharge reactor uses a coaxial cylinder configuration with glass as the dielectric material. Discharge of O2 in the plasma module to produce output in the form of ozone concentration is carried out through several parameters including heavy species transport, drift diffusion and electrostatic. The highest ozone concentration of 545.19825 ppm was produced at an AC input voltage of 18 kV, while at an input voltage of 16 kV with a DC source, the highest ozone concentration was obtained at 546.19503 ppm. The results showed that the concentration of ozone produced through the simulation was higher than the experiment conducted by Panta et al.
