Abstract
Adolescence is a transition period that often experiences very complex problems, such as reproductive health problems, pregnancy, premarital sex, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), HIV-AIDS and drugs. One of the efforts made by the government to overcome this problem is through a peer group approach developed in PIK-R / M as a bridge to the communication process. This study aims to analyze aspects of innovation that affect reproductive health communication in students in Palembang City in 2018 used a cross sectional design. The sample in this study were college students whose educational institutions had been exposed to the PIK-M Program as many as 100 people. Sampling in this study uses cluster random sampling. Data analysis carried out in this study were univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with chi-square test. The proportion of reproductive health communication that is less active for students in Palembang City in 2018 is 42.0%. The results of bivariate analysis obtained aspects of innovation that affect reproductive health communication in students in Palembang City in 2018 are facilities (p-value = 0,000), informative and media (p-value = 0,000). The most dominant factor influencing reproductive health communication is the facilities with the largest PRAdjusted value that is equal to 16,309. It can be concluded that facilities and informative media can affect the running of reproductive health communication. The researcher suggested the BKKBN (Population and Family Planning Agency) as the initiator of the establishment of the PIK-M to monitor and evaluate the course of the program so that the objectives of the establishment of PIK-M were achieved. Researchers also suggest to ensure the use of social networking as the most accessible and easy to use media for students
