Abstract
The purpose of this research was analysis of noise and mechanical vibration produced by the candlenut shell breaking cracker machine. This research was conducted on February to July 2019 at Laboratory Machinery and Agricultur Techonology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. This research was conducted using descriptive method. The noise measurement method is done by grid mode and the tool used is a sound level meter. Vibration measurements were carried out at several points in the part of the candlenut shell cracker machine, the instrument used for vibration measurement was vibration meter. The parameters measured are noise and vibration. The intensity of the noise is depicted in the mapping using the "Surfer Software 11" generated by noise contours. Vibration measurement data is illustrated in graphical form. Based on the results of research and measurements that have been made on the candlenut shell cracker machine using a motor rotation speed of 100 rpm at an altitude of 140, 160, and 180 cm. The results of the highest noise intensity from the candletnut shell cracker machine without material were 98,6 dB at the height of 140 cm, while the highest noise intensity from the shell shell nut machine using material was 98,9 dB. Based on the results of the highest vibration measurements found in the framework before using the material that is 20,7 m / s2 and the highest vibration when using the material is 21,2 m/s2.
