Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1). Analyzing factors affecting the area of oil palm planting, productivity, and palm oil production in South Sumatra, (2). Analyzing the factors that determine the behavior of CPO supply of South Sumatra, (3). Analyze the factors affecting the price of palm oil (CPO) of South Sumatra and the price of palm oil (CPO) of South Sumatra. This research data collection activity has been carried out in October 2017 until November 2017 in Palembang City, South Sumatera Province. The method used in the implementation of this research is historical research method (histroies) by using time series data from 2000 to 2016. Two Stage Least Squares (2SLS) Analysis. Methods of data collection by tracing data and official documents sourced from various related agencies. The results of the research have shown that the factors that have significant effect on the width of area, production and productivity of oil palm are minimum wage of labor, interest rate, TSP fertilizer price, rainfall, and productivity one year before. Factors that significantly affect the demand behavior of CPO demand in South Sumatra, the rupiah exchange rate against the dollar, and the export volume of Indonesian CPO. Domestic CPO prices are significantly influenced by CPO production, demand for CPO in South Sumatra and CPO export tax. The price of CPO exports was significantly affected by the world CPO price of the year, the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar in that year, and the export price of CPO one year earlier.
