Abstract

In Tanjung Balai Karimun, smuggling is something that often happens because considering the location of Tanjung Balai Karimun which is near the border area of Malaysia and Singapore, it is one of the entrances for efforts to smuggle illegal goods into Indonesia. Efforts to smuggle illegal goods into Indonesia are carried out by international syndicates with various modes, both through official channels at airports and international seaports. Based on the investigation by the Riau Islands Police, the arrangement or planning for the smuggling of illegal goods into Indonesia was carried out by syndicates or organized crime groups based in Malaysia This thesis analyzes how Indonesia's efforts to overcome the problem of the entry of illegal goods through the waters of Tanjung Balai Karimun. The purpose of this study was to find out what actions were taken by Indonesia in overcoming these problems. The author uses securitization theory to answer research questions.
