Abstract

This thesis is entitled Efforts of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate in Combating Corruption Crimes in the South Sumatra Region. The formulation of the problem raised by the author is an effort to overcome corruption committed by the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation in the South Sumatra region and what are the obstacles in the process of tackling corruption committed by the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation in the South Sumatra region. Writing this thesis is a type of research that uses empirical legal research methods. The results of this study are the efforts made by the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the South Sumatra Regional Police in tackling criminal acts of corruption by using criminal law (penal efforts), which begins with conducting investigations and investigations in accordance with existing regulations and then processing the corruption case to the the next stage and efforts without using criminal law (non-penal efforts) are efforts made to prevent someone from committing a crime, as well as the obstacle factors in the process of overcoming the crime of corruption are community factors and law enforcement factors.
