Abstract

This study is related to a discussion of the nature of soil in mineral soil types in oil palm plantations with different planting years (2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005) at PT. Waimusi Agroindah. This research was conducted in January 2019 - April 2019 at PT. Waimusi Agroindah, Ogan komering Ilir, Kota Kayuagung. Analysis of soil physical properties was carried out at the Physics and Conservation Laboratory, Land Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The method used is a survey method with direct observation to the field and the selection of sampling locations is done by random methods. The sample points were 12 sampling points carried out on oil palm areas with different planting years from 2002 to 2005 planting, and for each planting year 3 sample points were taken. The results of this study are the physical properties of soil for the color of the soil in 2002 planted dominantly with bright colors and for other planting years the dominant soil color with dark colors, for soil texture in the 2002 planting year has a quite different percentage fraction compared to other planting years, for soil structure every year of planting does not have much difference whether it is the first or second layer soil, for 2005 soil water content has the highest and lowest water content in the 2002 planting year, for the 2002 soil planting weight has the highest value and 2005 the most low, and for the 2005 pore soil for planting years the highest percentage and 2002 planting year were the lowest, and the permeability of land where the 2002 planting year was the lowest permeability value and the highest was in the 2005 planting year.
