Abstract

This research aimed to know determine the growth and production of several gen-otypes F2 generation from crossing of curly and cayenne pepper and to identify good parent plants as accession that has superiority for developed further. This research was conducted from january to june 2022 at Jl. Abikusno Cokro Suyoso, Palembang, South Sumatera. Tested genotypes were nine genotypes F2 generation from crossing of curly and cayenne pepper. Data analysis was carried out descrip-tively trough visual image, grapichs, and photos, mean, and standard deviation. The result showed that the plant growth and production of cross-bred plants var-ied depending on the parent plants. In general, nine plant genotypes had character-istics such as curly chili or cayenne pepper, and two plant accessions were found which were recombinant plants, which had a combination of characteristics be-tween curly pepper and cayenne pepper, namely genotypes CK Tanjung-2 (8) x CR Sakti (4), and CK Ciko (2) x CR Bara (6) which have fruit position erect, fruit shape such as curly chili, longer productive life, and flowering age, and fast har-vest.
