Abstract

Abstract The role of farmer groups needs to be encouraged to increase development, especially in agriculture, one of the important agricultural commodities, namely rubber plants. Jambi is one of the provinces that produces the largest rubber in Indonesia, one of the regencies that plays a role in supplying rubber in Jambi, namely Muaro Jambi Regency. Maro Sebo Subdistrict has an area of rubber plantations that produce rubber and one of the largest in Muaro Jambi Regency with an area of 437,162.0 ha. Muaro Jambi Village is one of the villages in Maro Sebo District, where the majority of the population has daily life as rubber farmers and farm workers. Muaro Jambi Village has an agricultural institution, namely a farmer group of five rubber farmer groups. The objectives of this study are 1) Knowing the role of rubber farmer groups in Muaro Jambi Village, Maro Sebo District, Muaro Jambi Regency. 2) To find out the level of income and welfare of rubber farmers in Muaro Jambi Village. 3) Analyze the relationship between the role of farmer groups and the level of welfare of rubber farmers in Muaro Jambi Village, Maro Sebo District, Muaro Jambi Regency. This research was carried out in Muaro Jambi Village, Maro Sebo District, Muaro Jambi Regency. The selection of the location of this study was carried out deliberately. Data collection was carried out in December 2021. The research method used in this study is the survey method. The example withdrawal method in this study is the Slovin method. The results showed that the role of rubber farmer groups in Muaro Jambi Village was quite a role or moderate. The average productivity of rubber farmers is 2,632.56 kg/ha/year and the average income of rubber farmers in Muaro Jambi Village per hectare is Rp35,516,335,- ha/year. Based on the results of the research, the income of rubber farmers in Muaro Jambi Village is higher than the KHL value of Muaro Jambi Village and has a welfare level for rubber farmers in Muaro Jambi Village by 78 percent. Based on statistical tests using the SPSS tool, the role of rubber farmer groups with welfare levels got significant results with a significant value of 0.012 < 0.05 which means that there is a significant relationship between the variables of the role of the farmer group and the level of welfare with a coefficient correlation value of 0.393 which means that according to Gofar, it has a low / weak relationship strength because the value of the positive correlation coefficient means that the nature of the relationship is unidirectional, namely if one of the the variable increases then the other variable also increases.
