Abstract

The age of adolescent is the most vulnerable age to experience reproductive health problems such as sexuality early age, abortion, sexually transmitted infections, HIV and AIDS and drugs. One of the efforts that carried out by government to overcome it is through approach peer group developed in Adolescent Reproductive Health Counseling Information and Counseling Center Program as a link of communication process. This study aimed to analyze the characteristic communicator that affect the communication reproductive health in high school adolescent at Palembang 2018.This study using a cross sectional design. The sample of this study is high school adolescent whose educational institutions had been exposed to the Adolescent Reproductive Health Counseling Information and Counseling Center Program as many as 112 people. Sampling of this study use cluster random sampling. The analysis of data that carried out in this study were univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with chi-square test. The proportion of reproductive health communication the less active in high school adolescent at Palembang City in 2018 is 30.4%. The result of bivariate analysis obtained characteristic of communicator that affect reproductive health communication in high school adolescent at Palembang in 2018 are knowledge (p-value = 0,000), friendship (p-value = 0,000), information-conveying skills (p-value = 0,000) and parental role (p-value = 0,000). Researchers suggest to bkkbn as the initiator formation PIK R to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the program so that the purpose of the establishment of PIK R is reached. Researchers also suggest to improve the quality of member to conduct training for peer educator and counselor the same age to improve the knowledge, attitudes and skills teens in giving kie about reproductive health.
