Abstract

The research was conducted from June 2009 until August 2009 in Laboratory of Mikrobiology Aguaculure, Laboratory of Fishery Product Technology and Laboratory of Agriculture Product of Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The objective of this research was to know the effect of draying time of phycocianin concentrate from Spirulina platensis. The research used completely randomized design (CDR) with three treatments and three replications. The treatments were draying time 12 hours, 24 hours and 36 hours. That were the Chemical (phycocianin) and physical analysis (size of particle and colour). The result showed that draying time not significantly for phycocyanin concentrate, chroma value, hue value, size of particle, and significantly effected for lightness value Spirulina platensis powder. Phycocianin concentrate with 12 hours draying higher than 24 hours and 36 hours they were 25,297%; 22,780%; and 21,183% respectively.
