Abstract

This study is to explain how Jehovah's Witnesses, as one of the Christian denominations, are now spread in a total of 239 countries in the world, including Indonesia with The Jehovah's Witnesses Organization (JW.ORG) International Non-Governmental Organization in the United States, is present in helping fellow believers in Indonesia in fighting for the legality and their rights to practice their Faith after being officially banned by the Indonesian Government for twenty years. five years. The approach used in this research is the concept of the International Advocacy Network (Transnational advocacy Network) by Margareth E. Keck and Kathryn Sikkink, with the indicators used are Information Politics, Symbolic Politics, Leverage Politics and Accountability Politics. While the method used in this research is an unstructured interview method and qualitative descriptive. The results of this study indicate that JW.ORG as an International Non-Government Organization has played a major role in reopening the ban on Jehovah's Witnesses in Indonesia which began in 1976 until 2001, using the strategy of the Transnational Advocacy Network, either directly or indirectly, such as coordinating Indonesian Jehovah's Witnesses from the United States and countries that have other JW.ORG branch offices such as in Australia, Germany and the Netherlands, as well as missionaries sent to Indonesia to assist in service. and materially in lobbying the government to officially lift the ban, using the four dimensions of the Transnational Advocacy Network concept, which ultimately resulted in the lifting of the ban through the Decree of the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia Number: Kep-255/A/JA/06/2001 on June 1 in 2001, officially recognized and revoked the ban only on the right of Jehovah's Witnesses to perform their Faith in Indonesia.
