Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi karakter agronomi beberapa varietas kedelai berbiji besar pada populasi dan jarak tanam berbeda sehingga dapat diketahui hasil optimum dari suatu varietas tertentu . Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan November 2011 sampai Maret 2012 di Agro Techno Park (ATP) Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial (RAKF) dengan tiga ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah varietas tanaman yang terdiri dari varietas berbiji besar yaitu Argomulyo (VI), Mutiara 1 (V2), Rajabasa (V3) dan varietas berbiji kecil yaitu Tanggamus (V4). Faktor kedua adalah populasi yang terdiri dari 250.000 tanaman per ha (Jl), 333.000 tan per ha (J2), dan 500.000 tanaman per ha (J3). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa varietas yang berdaya hasil tinggi (1.74 ton/ha) adalah varietas berbiji besar dengan hasil biji yang lebih banyak merupakan varietas Rajabasa dan populasi yang baik untuk menghasilkan hasil biji yang cukup tinggi adalah populasi 333.000 tanaman per ha.
