Abstract

Pulmonary Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease that humans have long been known, but until now still to be the world’s problem.Based on kesehatan rumah tangga survey in 1985, Pulmonary Tuberculosis ranked number 3 as the primary cause of death in Indonesia.ln 2005 the number of CDR (Case Detection Rate) for Indonesia 67%. WHO States that every second someone is infected with Pulmonaiy Tuberculosis and every ten seconds one person dies because of Pulmonary Tuberculosis. This study aims to find out the relationship smear examination and abnormality pulmonary radiology on adult Tuberculosis Pulmonary patients period July to December 2009. The kind of research uses observational descriptive.Data taken as secondary data are collected from medical records retrospectively all of the outpatients diagnosed as new cases of Pulmonary Tuberculosis. Within 6 months,the study found that 103 had complete data of medical records in Poly TB RS.Khusus Paru-paru Palembang. Most of the patients that diagnosed as male are 52,4% .Most of new case patients at the age of work( 15-50 years) are 79,6% .Based on smear examination,smear negative are 63,2% and smear positive are 36,8%. The results of positive smear with abnormality pulmonary radiology infiltrate (ll,7%), inhomogen (l,9%), infiltratefibrosis (12,6%), infiltrate-cavity (9,7%), cavity-fibrosis (0,9%). The results of smear negative with abnormality pulmonary radiology infiltrate (24,3%), inhomogen (9,7%), infiitrate-fibrosis (20,4%), infiltrate-cavity (5,9%), cavity-fibrosis (2,9%). Based on the research,adult Pulmonary Tuberculosis patients are predominantly male(52,4%),and in age of work group (79,6%). Most of smear positive with infiltrate are 62,5% and negative smear with inhomogen are 83,3%.
