Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kapur terhadap pertumbuhan lidah buaya {Aloe vera Linn) pada tanah gambut, dan mengetahui dosis kapur yang paling baik untuk pertumbuhan tanaman lidah buaya pada tanah gambut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Penelitian Jurusan Budidaya Pertanian Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sriwijaya, Indralaya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai dari bulan Oktober 2011 sampai dengan Maret 2012. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari enam perlakuan. Perlakuan tersebut adalah DI (0,5xAldd = 62,56 g/polybag), D2 (lxAldd = 125,12 g/polybag), D3 (l,5xAldd = 187,68 g/polybag), D4 (2xAldd = 250,24 g/polybag), D5 (2,5xAldd = 312,8 g/polybag), D6 (3xAldd = 375,36 g/polybag) yang diulang sebanyak empat kali sehingga ada 24 unit perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada pengaruh nyata takaran dosis kapur terhadap parameter panjang daun, lebar daun, tebal daun dan pertambahan bobot tanaman. Perlakuan dosis kapur 375,36 g/polybag merupakan hasil yang terbaik untuk pertumbuhan lidah buaya.
