Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman jagung manis sebagai tanaman sela gambir pangkas meja. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sriwijaya Indralaya Kabupaten Ogan Ilir, dari bulan November 2007 sampai Januari 2008. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan dua perlakuan dan empat ulangan, perlakuan tersebut adalah Jo (monokultur) dan J1 (jagung manis di antara gambir pangkas meja) sehingga terdapat 8 unit perlakuan. Setiap unit perlakuan terdiri dari 40 tanaman, sehingga keseluruhan terdapat 320 tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanaman jagung manis lebih baik ditanam secara monokultur dari pada ditanam sebagai tanaman sela gambir pangkas meja.
