Abstract

Keratitis adalah radang pada kornea yang akan mengakibatkan kornea menjadi keruh sehingga menimbulkan gejala mata merah dan tajam penglihatan menurun. Keratitis dapat disebabkan oleh bakteri, virus, jamur, mata kering, adanya benda asing pada kornea, iritasi pemakaian lensa kontak. Peradangan pada mata merupakan permasalah mata yang cukup sering terjadi. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui etiologi kejadian keratitis di RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang periode 1 Januari 2011-31 Desember 2012. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional dengan sampel sebanyak 95 orang. Data diambil dari rekam medik pasien. Kelompok usia terbanyak yang menderita keratitis adalah 36-45 tahun sebanyak 24 (25,3%) orang. Jumlah penderita keratitis laki-laki sebanyak 54 (56,8%) orang dan perempuan 41 (43,2%) orang. Penyebab keratitis terbanyak disebabkan oleh bakteri sebanyak 37 (38,9%) orang. Selain bakteri, keratitis juga dapat disebabkan oleh virus dan jamur. Kata kunci: keratitis, etiologi keratitis
