Abstract

Background. Microwave diathermy is used for relieve pain and improve function in patient with cervical pain. The improvement of pain in patient with cervical pain is not known yet after the patient got microwave diathermy therapy. Methods. This research use design descriptive analytic with a total sample of 30 patients. the patient will get Microwave diathermy therapy for 15 minutes and received treatment 5 times for 2 weeks. Before that. there will be pain assessment using visual analogue scale(VAS) in patients. After the patients received treatment 5 times for 2 weeks there will be pain assessment using visual analogue scale(VAS) again in patients. The outcome of measurement with VAS before and after therapy will be analyzed with paired t test. Result. The outcome of paired t test confidence index 95% obtained the significance value is 0.000. because the significance value is below 0,05, there is significant improvement of the mean value ffom VAS score before and after therapy in patients with cervical pain. The improvement of the mean value from VAS score from 19,187 to 22,880 point. Conclusion. Microwave diathermy can be used as therapy for patients with cervical pain.
