Abstract

COFFEE IS ONE OF THE LEADING PLANTATION OF COMMODITIES IN INDONESIA. SOUTH SUMATRA IS A PROVINCE WITH THE LARGEST AREA AND COFFEE PRODUCTION IN INDONESIA. THE PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY IS TO OBTAIN A PANEL DATA REGRESSION MODEL ON THE FACTORS THAT DETERMINE COFFEE PRODUCTION 12 DISTRICTS/MUNICIPALITIES IN SOUTH SUMATRA ON 2015-2021. THIS RESEARCH USED DATA FROM THE DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF PLANTATIONS, MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE, INDONESIA. THE ESTIMATION OF THE PANEL DATA REGRESSION MODEL IS CARRIED OUT USING THREE MODELS, NAMELY THE COMMON EFFECT MODEL (CEM), FIXED EFFECT MODEL (FEM), AND RANDOM EFFECT MODEL (REM). SELECTION OF THE BEST MODEL HAVE DONE BY THREE TESTS, NAMELY THE CHOW, HAUSMAN AND LAGRANGE MULTIPLIER TESTS. THE BEST MODEL CHOSEN IS FEM WITH INDIVIDUAL EFFECTS.
