Abstract

The aims of this research were to: (1) calculate production and income of rice farmers in the village Gelebak Dalam Banyuasin Regency, (2) calculate the level of food security of households rice farmers in the inland swamp in village of Gelebak Dalam, (3) analyze the relationship between production and income with household's food security level of rice farmers in village Gelebak Dalam, Banyuasin. This research was conducted in Gelebak Dalam Village Rambutan Subdistrict, Banyuasin Regency from November to Februari 2019. The method used was survey method and the sampling method was simple random sampling. The results of this research indicated that (1) production of rice farming amounted to 6,916.25 kg/c.a/yr, spinach farming 1.478,93 kg/c.a/yr, and kale farming 2.990,84 kg/c.a/yr, (2) while the total income of farmers obtained from rice farming, vegetable farming and outside farming for one year was Rp 54.619.981,88. Total consumption expenditure of farmers in one year was Rp19,215,612.50. The proportion of food expenditure for farmer households in Gelebak Dalam village was 58.47 percent. This meant that farmers in Gelebak Dalam was food-resistant since the proportion of food expenditure was less than or equal to 60 percent of total expenditure, and (3) there are a significant relationship between production and income with household’s food security level of rice farming in Gelebak Dalam Village, Rambutan Subdistrict, Banyuasin Regency.
