Abstract

In this democracy era, there are so many people who want to nominate themselves as legislative candidates, especially from big parties. One of them is PDI Perjuangan party. The more candidates who nominate themselves, the more they need to optimizing decision making so they will get the qualified legislative candidates. In this research, the author tries to use Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) method in selection of legislative candidate of Palembang Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) from PDI Perjuangan party. SMART method is a multicriteria decision-making technique based on each alternative consisting of a number of criteria and having a weight that describes how important it is compared to other criteria.
