Abstract
In this final project identification paper currency designed to recognize the character of paper currencies rupiah. Method of Optical Character Recognition was used as the introduction of nominal money and Neural Network Backpropagation in comparison to find out the accuracy of any of the characters in the know by OCR. This identification divice using usb camera as image capture and processed using matlab software. The final project was performed with 10 times the experiment, each experiment is performed with a different paper currencies ranging from a thousand rupiah to one hundred thousand rupiah, total testing 70 times. The average level of accuracy using 95% optical character recognition and neural network Backpropagation 97%.
