Abstract
Background: Lumbar spondylosis is the changes in the spinal joints, characterized by increasing degeneration of the intervertebral disc followed by changes in bone and soft tissue, or it can mean overgrowth of bone (osteophytes), which is mainly located in the anterior aspect, lateral, and the posterior. Objective: To identify the incidence and profile of patients with lumbar spondylosis in the hospital radiology department Moh. Hoesin Palembang. Methods: Method of this study is cross-sectional descriptive design. Population in this study are all the results of vertebrae radiograph at the hospital radiology department Moh. Hoesin Palembang. Samples are used all the result of the lumbar spondylosis radiograph. Results: In this study, 117 patients recorded lumbar spondylosis perform lumbar spine radiographs. Incidence of lumbar spondylosis was 3.84%, age group 50-57 was the highest frequency (31.6 %), the incidence of lumbar spondylosis in men and woman was (47.9%) and (52.1%), and lumbar vertebrae 4 was the highest ffequency of lumbar spondylosis (96.6 %). Conclusion: This cross-sectional study revealed a low incidence of lumbar spondylosis. Incidence of lumbar spondylosis were similar between men and women, age group 50-57 and lumbar vertebra 4 was the highest frequency.
