Abstract

Breastfeeding is the process of giving milk to babies or young children with mother's breast milk (ASI) that comes from the mother's breast. Breast milk is an essential nutrient that contains antibodies, immunoglobulins, enzymes, hormones, proteins and other nutrients needed by children and breastfeeding is recommended for up to two years.This study aims to analyze the relationship between the effect of breastfeeding duration on the nutritional status of children aged 2-3 years in the Multiwahana Public Health Center, Sako District, Palembang City.From the calculation of the minimum sample, 64 samples were obtained and the frequency of breastfeeding <2 years was 42.2%, while the frequency of breastfeeding was 2 years was 57.8% of children. The results of Chi Square analysis show P-value = <0.0001 (P-value <0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between breastfeeding duration and the child's nutritional status (BB/TB) in the Multiwahana Health Center area, Sako City Palembang.
