Abstract

Hubungan antara Uni Emirat Arab dengan Israel telah mencapai puncak perdamaian setelah kedua negara sepakat untuk melakukan normalisasi hubungan. Salah satu bentuk normalisasi hubungan tersebut berujung pada kerjasama pembangunan pangkalan intelijen yang akan dibangun di Pulau Socotra. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan kepentingan Uni Emirat Arab terhadap Israel dalam pembangunan pangkalan intelijen di Pulau Socotra. Metode yang akan digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif yang dimana data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari studi kepustakaan. Berdasarkan hasil dari analisis yang dilakukan, ditemukan fakta bahwa Uni Emirat Arab memiliki kepentingan dalam aspek keamanan dimana untuk melakukan pemantauan serta pengawasan terhadap kelompok Houthi dan juga Iran. Selain itu juga terdapat kepentingan ekonomi yaitu dengan dibangunnya pangkalan ini maka Uni Emirat Arab dengan mudah bisa mengontrol Pulau Socotra beserta isinya yang kaya akan sumber daya alam yang membuat turis-turis dari mancanegara ingin berdatangan ke pulau tersebut yang dimana akan menghasilkan keuntungan bagi Uni Emirat Arab. Uni Emirat Arab juga ingin mendapatkan pengaruh di wilayah tersebut guna untuk mewujudkan tatanan internasional yang baik. Kata Kunci: Uni Emirat Arab, Israel, Kepentingan Nasional, Kerjasama Relations between the United Arab Emirates and Israel have reached the peak of peace after the two countries agreed to normalize relations. One form of normalizing this relationship has led to cooperation in the construction of an intelligence base to be built on Socotra Island. Therefore, this study aims to find the interests of the United Arab Emirates against Israel in the construction of an intelligence base on Socotra Island. The method that will be used is descriptive qualitative where the data in this study were obtained from a literature study. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the United Arab Emirates has an interest in the aspects of security where to monitor and supervise the Houthi group and also Iran. In addition, there is also an economic interest, with the construction of this base, the United Arab Emirates can easily control Socotra Island and its contents which are rich in natural resources which make tourists from abroad want to come to the island which will generate profits for the United Arab Emirates. The United Arab Emirates also wants to gain influence in the region in order to create a good international order. Keywords: United Arab Emirates, Israel, National Interest, Cooperation
